FORMER WASHINGTON STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL ROB MCKENNA ENDORSES LESLIE LEWALLEN FOR CAMAS CITY COUNCIL
Lewallen Will Legislate in “an Evenhanded and Non-Partisan Manner”
Camas City Council, Ward 3, Position 2 candidate Leslie Lewallen is proud to announce the official endorsement of former Washington State Attorney General Rob McKenna for her Camas City Council campaign. “I’m honored to have one of Washington’s finest public servants supporting my plan to bring open, transparent and effective leadership back to the City of Camas. Camas deserves better,” Lewallen said.
“I enthusiastically endorse Leslie Lewallen for Camas City Council in Ward 3,” former Attorney General McKenna said. “I’ve known Leslie for over 20 years and have worked with her in local government. As Washington State’s Attorney General from 2005-2013, I led our state’s largest law office, hiring many talented attorneys who, like Leslie, are dedicated to enforcing and upholding the law in an evenhanded and non-partisan manner.”
“Leslie’s legal credentials are first rate. She is smart, hardworking, and fair, and will bring boundless energy to her work to advance the best interests of the Camas community,” he said. Highlighting her prestigious legal experience, McKenna added, “After graduating from law school, she was selected to be a law clerk for Chief Justice Gerry Alexander of the Washington State Supreme Court, an honor that goes to only a few of the best qualified new lawyers.”
“The City of Camas would be fortunate to have Leslie on the City Council where she will apply her legal and analytical skills as well as her considerable energy to help identify and solve the problems facing the City of Camas,” McKenna said.
Rob McKenna is the former Attorney General of Washington. He was first elected in 2004, and won re-election in 2008. He is currently a law partner in Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP’s Seattle and Washington D.C. offices where he leads the state Attorney General team in the firm’s Public Policy Group.
