Are there any aspects of City operations or priorities that you believe need to be reconsidered? Why?
Leslie responds:
There sure are. It’s why I’m running for City Council. Currently, our City Council lacks transparency, accountability, and competence. This trifecta has created an environment where paid consultants are used to make almost every decision at City Hall. We need to elect legislators who know how to legislate and can work directly with trade associations and industry experts, independent from consultant oversight or interference.
Anybody can punt tough issues to a consultant. We need leaders who are willing, and more importantly able, to do the hard work of understanding issues, communicating those issues with the electorate, and incorporating the will of the people into fiscally responsible legislative solutions.
