    Ask Leslie- Collaboration

Today's Question: What do you see as the Council’s vision in working with other cities in Clark County and the County Council as a whole? Leslie responds: We are just a village in a larger community. We must understand our role in a larger picture. We must be good neighbors and work together. But we also compete with our neighbors, and in that context, we must be protective of what we have. We must be constantly aware of things that may degrade our quality of life and the bea

Ask Leslie- No Bond, No Additional Tax Load

Today’s Question: In your Contract With Camas, you say we can build a Crown Park Replacement Pool with no bond and no additional tax load to Camas taxpayers. If it won’t raise taxes, where will the money come from? Leslie’s Response: There are many ways to fund this construction/operation that eliminates the need for additional taxation. Let’s remember that prior to the City digging the Crown Park pool up in order to sell us a $78 million dollar replacement, we paid to repair

Today's Question: Sometimes, great intentions have unintended consequences. How do you deal with decisions you made but later realize didn’t work out as intended? Leslie's Response: We often learn more from our mistakes than we do from our successes. My campaign is founded on the principle of accountability. Accountability means we take ownership of failure as easily as we take credit for success. We do not pass the blame off on somebody else, or something else. We take respo

Ask Leslie- What Must Camas Change ASAP?

Today's Question: Are there any aspects of City operations or priorities that you believe need to be reconsidered? Why? Leslie responds: There sure are. It’s why I’m running for City Council. Currently, our City Council lacks transparency, accountability, and competence. This trifecta has created an environment where paid consultants are used to make almost every decision at City Hall. We need to elect legislators who know how to legislate and can work directly with trade ass

    Ask Leslie- We Need Realtors!

Today's Question As you consider your vision for Camas’s neighborhoods, businesses, parks, and schools, how could you see Realtors and the real estate community being a partner in helping move that vision forward? Leslie responds: Realtors are the ultimate matchmakers. They work more diligently than anyone to find exactly the right buyer for each and every property. Realtors are the ones who understand the gems of Camas better than anyone. They comprehend the real selling fea
